how good is this song/band/video?

“Realize I’m not one of your kind, I’m nothing like you.”

Anti Venom - Grey Matter Area

No hope, no hearts, no fucking help.

I don’t really know much about this band other than that they are from Boston and fucking sick. I missed my chance to see them in Brooklyn recently and I’m pissed. If you haven’t yet, check them out/get their album here.

Verse- The New Fury

“We still struggle with the fact

that one percent has ninety-nine on their knees.

Washington’s drawing up war plans

while there’s still no hope for the homeless man.

No one should h ave to live under these men, iron fists with gun in hand.”

Why the fuck did people start hating Verse? I remember when I was much younger, Verse was one of the top bands in hardcore and everyone loved them. Then out of nowhere (as what usually happens in the hardcore scene) everyone who used to love them started being like “yo fuck verse band sucks” and I never understood why (not that I understand in the case of many other bands). I love Verse and always have, and the fact that they are getting back together to tour and write a new album has me super stoked. Hardcore lacks politically charged bands in a time where it is fucking necessary for kids to be pissed off at all the bullshit going on in the world and in politics. This band rules and this song is awesome.

Foundation - No One Writes Protest Songs Anymore

“Don’t ask me why when the reasons couldn’t be any more apparent,

from the children born into addictions from the conscience their mothers lacked,

kidnapped from their minds by a substance made to corrupt and destroy,

leaving any will they once had in splintered shards.

And i’m the one who’s crazy? Something here has to give.”

When this album first came out I was floored by how fucking intense and heavy it is. The album is not stop heavy with really awesome lyrics and meaning. I slept on Foundation for a longgggg time, it wasn’t until I heard “Devotion” on that America’s Hardcore Compilation record that I started getting into them. This album is really fucking good and I’m surprised how short lived the hype was over it. This album is super hard and makes me wanna spin kick and light stuff on fire. I personally listen to this album while I’m lifting, definitely the power-lifting album of 2011. There’s not much to say other than that this band kills and if you’ve been into hardcore for more than 24 hours you know all about this band.

Ages - Headstone

“We’re all living to be pacified, to have people tell us that it’s normal,

I think I’ve had enough of someone telling me that I’ll get over it.

I’ve never meant it more when I say:

Fuck growing up.”

I can’t really remember how I came across this band’s bandcamp page, but I was immediately blown away by how talented they are. The music is very reminiscent of title fight. Come to think of it, if title fight, lifetime, and a few melodic hardcore bands got together and formed a love child; that love child would probably be Ages. The vocals are very emotional and the lyrics are brilliant, the members of this band are obviously very talented and I think they are going to blow up big soon if they haven’t already started to. I don’t know much about this band aside from the fact that their record Sleep On It has been on constant rotation since I first heard it. You should definitely check them out if you haven’t already and hopefully I’ll get the pleasure of seeing them live in the future.
